MIX 101.5 Welcomes Canadian Artists Back to the Airwaves Following Historic Hurricanes Series Victory
RALEIGH, NC — The ice has settled, the series is won, and the Carolina Hurricanes are officially heading to the Stanley Cup Final! With the Montreal Canadiens officially sent packing, the team at MIX 101.5 (WRAL-FM) is thrilled to announce that our grueling, self-imposed Canadian Music Boycott is officially over.
Effective immediately, the border is open, the airwaves are cleared, and we are welcoming our neighbors to the north back with open arms, a fresh plate of poutine, and a massive sigh of relief.
The “Welcome Back, Eh!” Playlist is Officially Un-Banned:
- Celine Dion: Because our hearts did go on, and now we can sing about it!
- Alanis Morissette: You oughta know she’s back in rotation where she belongs.
- Justin Bieber: It turns out it’s not too late to say “Sorry”—we missed you, Biebs.
- The Weeknd: He can finally pump up the Triangle once more, just in time for the championship round.
- Nickelback: Look, a deal’s a deal. They’re back too.
“We survived the silence, we survived the lack of falsetto, and most importantly, our boys got the job done,” said the MIX 101.5 Programming Department while gently folding their lucky playoff jerseys. “We want to thank the Triangle for standing with us during this musically challenging time. We did what we had to do for the Cup, but we are more than ready to let Bryan Adams back into our lives. Everything we do, we do it for the Canes—but we do love a good Canadian hook.”
No More Video Reviews!
Listeners can officially stand down from policing the playlist. The “Canadian Infraction” hotline is officially closed, and we are currently auditing the timestamps to crown our final ticket winners for next season. Thank you to everyone who helped us keep the airwaves red, white, and black!
The Hurricanes are moving on to the Stanley Cup Final, and now we have the perfect soundtrack to celebrate.
LET’S GO CANES
